Paul McEntire Succeeds Clark Baker on All Kids Alliance Council of Executives

With Clark Baker’s retirement as President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Houston, The Y Board of Directors has named Paul McEntire to the position.

And Paul has reaffirmed the Y’s commitment to partner in the collective impact work of All Kids Alliance.

Paul came to Houston in 2011 from a similar post at the YMCA of Florida’s First Coast (serving Jacksonville and several of Florida’s northern counties). His first served the Y in Greater Houston as Chief Operating Officer.  On December 1, 2014, he became President and CEO.

Paul started with the national YMCA organization in 1996 as Executive Director in Venice, Florida.  He moved to Jacksonville in 1999 as COO and became CEO in 2007. Prior to this work, Paul served as a pastor for twelve years in the suburbs of Chicago.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from The University of Illinois and a Master’s of Divinity degree.

Chair-Elect of the YMCA board for Greater Houston, Byrd Larberg, has described Paul as “a servant leader who will bring his knowledge, integrity, and focus to leading the fourth largest Y in the nation.”

The YMCA of Greater Houston operates 37 centers, one summer overnight camp, and more than 300 program sites.  It has a budget of $117 million.

Serving as Chief Operating Officer of the Houston YMCA since April 2011, Paul is credited with realigning the organization, producing a more effective operating structure and resulting in annual overhead savings of $1.5 million.  The Y also reports a 16% growth in revenue over the last three years.
