Dan Snare, President of American Leadership Forum, Joins All Kids Alliance Council of Executives
  

Daniel W. Snare was appointed President of the Houston/Gulf Coast Chapter of the American Leadership Forum (ALF) in January of 2014.
 
Mr. Snare has more than 30 years of experience in non-profit management and community development including 14 years spent with the American Diabetes Association in Texas, California and Pennsylvania. Prior to ALF, he served for nine years as the President of Bering Omega Community Services, one of Houston’s premiere charitable organizations providing a continuum of care for low income individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. Previously, Dan served for seven years as Chief Executive Officer of Community Health Charities, a national workplace involvement organization that raised over $64 million annually for many of the country’s leading health charities.
 
Dan is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Texas Oral Health Coalition. Dan served as a member of the Community Advisory Board of the Houston Medical Monitoring Project, a part of a national CDC funded research and treatment initiative, from its inception in 2005-2013 and served as its Chair from 2006 through 2011. Dan served as a member of the American Society of Association Executive’s Key Philanthropic Organizations Committee from 1999 to 2004 and was a member of the board of directors of the American Association of Diabetes Educators Education and Research Foundation from 1997 through 2002 where he was Chair of the Board from 2001 to 2002. Additionally, he has served on numerous other boards including the Harrisburg Community Theatre. He also served as a member of the President’s Commission on Y2K Compliance.
 
Dan is an experienced consultant, trainer and speaker having facilitated strategic planning processes and given presentations for such diverse national groups as the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation and the National Association of State Charity Officials.
 
Dan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin in 1979. Dan is a member of the ALF Medical Community Class 5. He lives with his wife of more than thirty years, Mary, and their cat,
Elvis in the Montrose district of Houston. He enjoys all types of sports, theater, reading and travel.
